Wilson Cole

Unfortunately I know nothing except that he died in Athens in 1866 just after the Emancipation Proclamation!! I can only hope he had a opportunity to enjoy freedom.  I will continue to search for clues, although the only document I have a Gabrielle's death certificate where he is listed as her father.

Kitty Cole

Kitty Cole is my earliest known relative.  According to an 1880 census she was born in 1790 in Athens, Georgia, sadly there's no mention of her mother or father.  I found evidence of her husband Wilson Cole and children (to be named in later post) in a Freedman's Bureau bank record by her daughter Fannie.
